Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, share, retain, and protect information when you use The Bright Acre.

Last updated: August 7, 2026

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how The Bright Acre ("The Bright Acre," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit relationships.thebrightacre.com, use our quizzes or interactive pages, contact us, or follow links from this website.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, the term personal information in this policy also includes personal data.

The Bright Acre is an independent educational website. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@thebrightacre.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

We may receive information you choose to provide when you email us, request support, report a problem, or exercise a privacy right. This may include your email address, name if you provide it, the content of your message, and related correspondence.

Quiz and interaction information

When you use a quiz or self-assessment, the website may process normalized answer codes, relationship-stage selections, stated goals, calculated pattern results, evidence-signal codes, score values, and related technical state needed to display the next page. We use these values to operate the experience and understand how the funnel performs.

Quiz output is not a diagnosis and does not establish what another person thinks or feels. We recommend that you do not enter names or unnecessary sensitive details into quiz fields or contact messages.

Technical, device, and traffic information

Our website and service providers may process:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate location derived from the IP address, such as country, region, city, postal area, time zone, latitude/longitude estimates, network number, and network organization.
  • Browser type and version, operating system, device category, screen dimensions, browser language, user agent, and time zone.
  • Page URLs, page paths, timestamps, referring URLs, referring domains, traffic source, and navigation events.
  • Advertising and campaign identifiers, including UTM parameters, GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID, and similar click identifiers when present.
  • Event information such as page views, quiz completion, result type, explanation views, and clicks on affiliate or vendor links.

3. How we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the website and its interactive features.
  • Save quiz progress during a browser session and display the appropriate result or explanation.
  • Measure traffic, page performance, quiz completion, and affiliate-link engagement.
  • Attribute visits and conversions to advertising campaigns and improve advertising efficiency.
  • Detect technical problems, abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
  • Respond to messages, privacy requests, corrections, and support questions.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, users, and services.
  • Create aggregated or de-identified reports that do not reasonably identify an individual.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases, depending on the activity:

  • Consent, where required for non-essential storage technologies, advertising measurement, or similar processing.
  • Legitimate interests, such as operating and securing the website, understanding basic site performance, preventing abuse, and improving content, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Steps taken at your request, such as responding to a contact or privacy request.
  • Legal obligations, where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

5. How information is shared

We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary:

  • Website and infrastructure providers, including hosting, page-building, security, and technical service providers.
  • Google services, such as Google Apps Script, Google Sheets, Google Ads, analytics, or conversion-measurement tools when enabled.
  • IP geolocation and network-information providers, which may receive an IP address in order to return approximate location and network data.
  • Affiliate networks, vendors, and payment platforms when you click an affiliate link or continue to a third-party website. Their own privacy policies govern their processing.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • A successor or transaction participant in connection with a merger, sale, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of the website or its assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on applicable law and the advertising services enabled, some disclosures involving advertising identifiers may be treated as "sharing," "targeted advertising," or a similar regulated activity. Where legally required and applicable to us, we provide the required choice or opt-out mechanism.

6. Cookies, session storage, and similar technologies

We may use browser session storage to maintain quiz progress, preserve traffic-source information during a visit, and reduce repeated technical requests. Session storage is generally limited to the current browser session, although some state values may remain for a limited period to support the funnel.

Third-party analytics, advertising, hosting, or conversion tools may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies. Where required by law, we require consent before activating non-essential technologies. You can also use browser settings to block or delete cookies and stored website data, although doing so may interrupt quiz progress, attribution, or page functionality.

7. International processing

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws from your country. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism or additional safeguards, we use or rely on appropriate contractual, organizational, or legal protections available to the relevant provider and transfer.

8. How long we retain information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention is based on factors such as the type and sensitivity of the information, the purpose of processing, legal and accounting requirements, security needs, the ability to aggregate or de-identify the data, and whether the information is still needed to resolve a request or dispute.

Quiz session data may expire when the browser session ends or after a limited validity period. Contact correspondence may be retained while a request is active and for a reasonable recordkeeping period afterward. Technical and campaign logs are reviewed periodically and may be aggregated, de-identified, or deleted when they are no longer reasonably needed.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using an appropriate device, browser, and network and for avoiding the transmission of unnecessary sensitive information.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and whether the relevant law applies to us, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection; withdraw consent; opt out of certain targeted-advertising or sharing activities; or appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.

EEA and United Kingdom

You may have rights to be informed, access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in your country.

Canada

You may request access to and correction of personal information and may challenge our compliance with applicable Canadian privacy principles. Consent may be withdrawn subject to legal or practical limitations.

United States

Residents of certain states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or opt out of certain uses of personal information, subject to legal exceptions and applicability thresholds. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right where prohibited by law.

To submit a request, email support@thebrightacre.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request. Authorized agents may be required to provide proof of authorization.

Our site may not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because there is no uniform standard. Where applicable law requires us to recognize a legally valid browser-based opt-out signal and the requirement applies to us, we will take reasonable steps to honor it.

11. Children

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through the relationship quizzes or affiliate content. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review the request.

12. Third-party websites

Our website may link to affiliate partners, vendors, payment platforms, videos, or other third-party services. We do not control their privacy practices. Review the privacy policy and terms of each third party before providing information or making a purchase.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, service providers, legal obligations, or website features change. The "Last updated" date identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through an additional website notice when appropriate.
